Hey there, sent a discord message! Your audio sensibilities are exactly my taste and a perfect fit for our project.

-Lumin

Hey, discord sent!

Hey there! We've recently started shopping around for a writer to assist us with hard and soft world-building, narrative design, dialogue and item descriptions for our RPG. I sent a friend request on discord to chat!

- Lumin

Hello Travis,

Our team is  dedicated to a 2D Turn-based RPG/light platformer hybrid lightly inspired by Xengogears and  Ni No Kuni 2, called Kingdom of the Scarlet Rose. It fuses metriodvania style maps, with Xenogears-like combat, and also contains a base-building system.

Our short term plan is to further refine the game with an additional artist so that we may create a solid demo within the next 4 - 6 months. Our long term plan is to further complete the game either on our own, or through getting it published, or crowd-funded.

I saw your profile and loved your work, so if you'd have time I'd love to chat so that we may discuss the project more in depth and show you videos to give you an idea of whether it's something you'd be interested in? I also wanted to know to what degree of art you'd be interested in (such as environment versus character design).

My discord is: Lumin#7777

Cheers!

Hello Shin,

My partner and I are dedicated to a 2D Turn-based RPG/light platformer hybrid lightly inspired by Xengogears and  Ni No Kuni 2, called Kingdom of the Scarlet Rose. It fuses metriodvania style maps, with Xenogears-like combat, and also contains a base-building system.

As of now, the project's main game loop has been designed, and is in a polishing refinement and expansion phase. Our art, thus far, has been greyboxed to solidify and further define and refine the game's skeleton. Art wise, we're looking for a more hand-drawn art styles.

Hey Jasmine!

My partner and I are dedicated to a 2D Turn-based RPG/light platformer hybrid lightly inspired by Octopath Traveler and  Valkyrie Profile, called Angelic Odyssey. It fuses metriodvania style maps, with Xenogears-like combat, and also contains base-building and romance systems.

We're actually looking for someone to help us with narrative design, and so I wanted to chat with you to see if you'd be interested?

I don't know if you use discord but if so, you can reach me at: luminPhantom#2347

Cheers!

Edit: I Just found your discord in a previous convo and sent a friend request!

Hello enigmum,

My partner and I are dedicated to a 2D Turn-based RPG/light platformer hybrid lightly inspired by Xenogears and  Valkyrie Profile, called Angelic Odyssey. It fuses metriodvania style maps, with Xenogears-like combat, and also contains a base-building system.

As of now, the project's main game loop has been designed, and is in a polishing refinement and expansion phase. All of the art, thus far, has been greyboxed to solidify and further refine the game. Art wise, the game is flexible and can either use pixel art OR alternative 2D art styles such as vector graphics and the like.

Our short term plan is to further refine the game with an artistic teammate to make us an official "Trio", so that we may create a solid demo within the next few months. Our long term plan is to further complete the game either on our own, or through getting it published, or crowd-funded.

I saw your profile and loved your work, so if you'd have time I'd love to chat so that we may discuss the project more in depth and show you videos to give you an idea of whether it's something you'd be interested in.

I sent you a friend request!

Intro

Greetings, we are Grand Scheme Games.

Our mission is to make games that bring warmth to people's hearts and elevate their consciousness.

We are a team of 5, composed of a Producer/Designer, Developer, Character Artist, 3D modeler, and a musician.

At present we are looking for a new member to join our team to assist us on our newest project: City of the Sleeping Goddess

More specifically, we're looking for an environmental artist!

General Needs

We are looking for someone with the following skills and commitments

  1. Comfort and Experience with Concepting-  Our game City of the Sleeping Goddess Takes place in the Immortal Doctrine Universe. It it composed of a lore about 4 years in the making, and requires  someone to take over the visual representation and feeling of the game's universe. We're looking for someone who is interested in owning and defining the visual aspects of the Immortal Doctrine Universe based on some of the principles already set (though they are flexible) as well as expanding the visuals according to their own vision.
  2. Texturing and Materials - You'll be working closely with our 3D modeler to help create nice textures to bring the highest quality to the game we can muster visually
  3. UI, Backdrops and other Art Needs - You would work with our character artist Shaina, to assist her with areas that she may not be able to cover which could include UI, Backdrops for our Visual Novel style dialogue and eventual dating sim, etc.

Examples:

Sanctum Entrance

Concept Art for Sanctum Entrance Created By Shaina

Adventurer's Bedroom

One of the few bedroom sets you can unlock in our game

An example of one of our battle stages

Other things we really look for

  1. Love for What you do - This is number 1. One thing that you'll tell about our games is that everything we do is made with love. And we do this because it is an expression of our love.
  2. A great team player - You do what you can for the team. We support each other and hold each other up, as well as hold each other accountable. Since this posting, we've been together for just over 1.5 years and though we've learned a lot working together, we hope to improve even more.
  3. A great communicator - Our team is completely remote, meaning communication can be tough unless we make an effort. Though we don't expect people to be available all the time, or even everyday (or sometimes a few days), we feel it is very important that we are able to get ahold of one another easily. Every couple of days at least (or just giving a heads up when you might be unavailable for more than a few days.)
  4. A nice person - Can't go wrong with being a nice person (it's okay if you're a jerk sometimes... to other people though hehe >:D)

Technical Responsibilities and Duties

As mentioned above, you'd be responsible for the entire visual presentation of the Immortal Doctrine universe. This would be a great opportunity for you to create a world and with a visual style that is uniquely yours.

A common example would be through  creating concepts, so that our Modeler will be able to convert them into in-game assets

We have other opportunities as well such as helping us to polish our VN backdrops and potentially making the City even fancier than it already is

Compensation (A.K.A. Capitalism Ho!)

Everyone on our team functions via a dynamic revshare system.

Everyone is treated as a Freelancer and provided a percentage of revshare for City of the Sleeping Goddess as an independent project which is reflected on the amount of work and personal effort they were required to put in, in order to complete the project.

We have contracts drafted and reviewed by our lawyer as well as trademarks for GSG and City of the Sleeping Goddess in process, so yes, we are quite official and all that.

Of course you can feel free to ask us if you have questions!

Final Things

We’re a team of people of a range of ages and stages in life. What connects us is our pursuit to follow in the mission of GSG and put ourselves in a position where we can do this professionally.

Ideas come and go, but it’s the people who work on them together who make them happen. Ultimately, we just want to have a solid team that can work on this game and future games full time.

At the moment the game is in "Polish" phase, so at the moment we don't have as much content to show, but we'll have more to show soon enough.

You can also find some of our marketing stuff on our instagram.

I will do my best to get back to all of you asap though I will be taking my time to have conversations with you all.

We'll be looking to make a final decision by the end of this month, however, if someone comes on by that just seems to be an amazing fit, it could be sooner. Naturally I'll keep this open as long as possible though so that we try not to miss anyone.

Thank you!

Hey there everyone, thank you very much for your interest. My apologies if I have not returned your messages yet, there were quite a few people who reached out than expected, especially under such short amount of time.

We are very deeply honored and humbled by your interests in our project. Though at this time, we have found someone whom we have decided to work with.

Despite this though, we'd love to keep in touch with you who have reached out and any other's who are interested in our team and game.

We'll be back in case new positions open up or we need extra assistance.

Thank you again.

Cheers,

GSG Team

Hey there. By expired link did you mean discord friend request? Or something else?

Intro

Greetings, we are Grand Scheme Games. We are a team of 9, composed of a Producer, Dev, 4 lovely artists, a writer (also lovely), a musician and a sound magician. At present we are looking for a new member to join our small, but tight-knit team.

More specifically, we're looking for a Lead Developer. Eh... don't let the name scare you though. Basically we're just looking for someone who is skilled in programming (more so than our current project manager and dev) to join us in the development of our game Immortal Doctrine.

General Needs

We are looking for someone with the following hard skills from most important to least important (or flexible):

  1. Experience with programming - Something that equates to 4+ years of experience or more would be preferred. This person would work closely with our producer/designer to identify design drivers for features, as well as feel comfortable working independently once plans have been defined.
    1. Knowledge of OOP is super important
    2. Able to discern the pros and cons of different programming approaches is very helpful as well
    3. We use Unity so if you have experience with C-based languages or Java, those work! But if you have another background that's cool too, as long as you're willing to learn.
  2. Experience with game development - Either through personal projects or projects from other teams, someone who knows or understands what it takes to make games and do the hardest part… FINISH.
    1. Unity, Gamemaker, Unreal, tbh any game engine would do.
    2. As long as one has experience working in them. We use Unity personally, so if you're familiar with it or Unreal, you'll feel right at home.

Other things we really look for

  1. A great team player - You do what you can for the team. We support each other and hold each other up, as well as hold each other accountable. Since this posting, we've been together for about half a year and though we've learned a lot working together, we hope to improve even more.
  2. A great communicator - Our team is completely remote, meaning communication can be tough. Though we don't expect people to be available all the time, or even everyday, we feel it is very important that we are able to get ahold of one another easily. Every couple of days at least (or just giving a heads up when you may be unavailable.)
  3. A nice person - Can't go wrong with being a nice person (it's okay if you're a jerk sometimes, but try not to be to us)

Technical Responsibilities and Duties

We'll be asking you to act as a "Lead Developer", more or less. Meaning you'd be taking on the bulk of our dev work.

There's been a decent amount completed or designed already, so technically you wouldn't need to start from scratch, but if you'd like to that would be okay as we could plan together.

Immortal Doctrine was designed to be built in a very modular way and we make a habit of cutting or simplifying features rather than adding them (unless they’re in scope).

Compensation (A.K.A. Capitalism Ho!)

Everyone on our team functions via a dynamic revshare system.

Our process is semi-democratic and relies on all members being honest about their work in respect to what's best for the team.

By this I mean that in order to judge fairness of compensation we use a combination of time tracking and voting as a team to provide an objective view over the contributions of others. This way we can build a system of trust and prevent bias or miseducation to cause us to not fairly provide someone with something they really should have.

Ultimately we want to be able to make this game and continue making game together.

We have a contract with more details on all the above and an NDA that we all sign out of respect, please feel free to ask us if you have questions and we can share.

Final Things

We’re a team of people of a range of ages and stages in life. What connects us is our pursuit to follow in the mission of GSG and put ourselves in a position where we can do this professionally.

Ideas come and go, but it’s the people who work on them together who make them happen. Ultimately, we just want to have a solid team that can work on this game and other games.

If you’re interested, please feel free to contact our Producer via discord at twill14 #2347

Hello, I wanted to reach out and ask about your interest in editing/writing work for our RPG Immortal Doctrine.

My name is twill14 and was going to send a discord Invite, but just wanted to give you a heads up first so that you'd know where the friend request came from.

Cheers!

Hey M Dub

Thank you very much for your interest in our game!

To keep the forum clean (when you get the chance) could you send us over a quick email at our address above?

Then we can chat about the game, our goals, your goals and then if everything is sweet, we can send a Discord invite to our server so that you can learn more.

Thank you again and we look forward to chatting with you!

Hello,

I'm twill14 here representing Grand Scheme Games :D

We're a small but passionate team composed of a:

- Designer

- Musician

- Programmer

- Sound FX Designer

- Concept Artist

- Accountant

Though we're not perfect, we really pride ourselves on our organizational skills and love towards the way games can positively impact people's lives.

Currently, we are creating a wonderful RPG called Immortal Doctrine and are looking for some pixel artists to join our cause.

The game's concept and execution is truly unique, but it does take some visual and experiential inspiration from games like Secret of Mana, Star Ocean, Chrono Trigger and 2D Zelda games.

At present we're looking for an environmental pixel artist who can help bring the land of Frayla to life and a character artist who can fill that world with amazing people, mystical creatures, and possibly even cool mystical powers!

To learn more about us please visit our website at: www.grandschemegames.com

We have a discord server that we use to facilitate communication and would love to send you an invite to chat to see if we're a good fit.

For those interested in our short/mid/long term plans please feel free to reach out, but to give some idea, we're in the process of revamping the original demo made for the game and afterwards will either look towards seeing funding from a non-shady publisher, kickstarter, or if all else fails. by our own means.

If this sounds cool to you please feel free to reach me at: twill14@gmail[dot]com.

Cheers,

Twill14
